Brief on Krav Maga Global

Krav Maga Global is a practical and tactical system that teaches how to prevent, deal and overcome all kinds of violence and attacks. Krav Maga Global prepares the trainees in the subjects of self defense, self-protection, fighting and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in unique and comprehensive teaching method.

Originally, the official system of hand-to-hand combat and self-defense employed by the Israeli Defense and Security Forces, the Israeli National and Military Police and its Special Operations and Anti-Terrorist Units. Around the World – Military, Police and Internal Security Branches are currently using our system on a day-to-day basis to save lives and deal with conflicts and violent confrontations.

KMG’s techniques and tactics are now applied in civilian self-defense programs for men, women and kids. KMG’s Krav Maga System integrates science and experience, instinct based self-defense and fighting techniques with designated tactics and drills. KMG offers a strong curriculum that teaches controlled aggression, fighting spirit, situational awareness, as well as avoidance, prevention tactics and verbal de-escalation of conflict, whenever the need and the possibility arise.

The Self-Defense component is the foundation of Krav Maga. It contains techniques that enable the practitioner to effectively defend himself against both armed and unarmed attackers. The techniques are eventually practiced in adverse conditions and situations, such as in the dark, on the ground and different terrains, outdoors, indoors and in situations which limit the practitioner’s movement. From weapon retention up to hostage-self-rescue, we supply the solutions.

We follow the slogan of Mastering your Skills, whether the student is a Beginner, Experienced or Advanced. Whatever one does in class whilst training one must try their best to Master that Skill so it becomes second nature and ingrained into muscle memory. As in a life threatening situation the reaction time is based on Human Response which is very short in duration, so if one tries to Master one’s skills, the time to effect the best and safest possible solution to an attack is also almost instantaneous.

Being Safe is the Goal.

"KMG" vs Traditional Martial Arts

"KMG" "Traditional" Martial Arts
Knowledge and experience started accumulating in the 1920's. KMG existed for six decades, longer than most eastern martial arts have been around in the west.
Exist since..? Many styles are very recent born.
Techniques, tactics and training methods are based on everyday, natural and instinctive human reactions, behaviors and movements. Self-defense, combat skills and close personal protection are what it's all about.
Most of the styles used for real life and combat have been transformed into sporty, "traditional" or health-oriented styles. Formally, ritually oriented and difficult to learn. Lack of realistic applicability.
Limited Objectives: On the one hand seek contact with the enemy / criminal / enemy, on the other hand prevent, avoid, de-escalate and, if this fails, survive and overcome violent conflicts and stressful events. Easy to learn and to keep.
Requires a long-term commitment and the result is limited in most cases and not suitable for use in urban, modern life, the police or the battlefield.
Everything about learning unrestricted techniques, tactics and variations in a realistic environment. For this reason, there are no competitions, "katas", rituals or choreographed routines in KMG. It is about a realistic and efficient curriculum, training and mental, technical, tactical and physical preparation.
Many are neither realistic nor appropriate for today's needs - and they are not supposed to be - but a sport where a modern practitioner (for example) can only compete with another practitioner of the same style. There are rules to prevent illegal moves and wrong play. The trainees are conditioned.
